LESLIE’S STYLE: I think the only word I can use to describe my style is simple. because other than that main element, it changes all the time so much, especially depending on where I am and how i’m feeling.
INSPIRATION: Sometimes one single song or photo will inspire me so much I create an entire idea from it. A lot of my films are completely inspired by the songs that I use in them. But I also get a lot of inspiration from old (and new) pictures and films, words and phrases, nature and my surroundings, and cities.
ONE TREND YOU’D LIKE TO SEE DISAPPEAR: Ballet flats! I hate them- they are at the same level as Uggs and Crocs for me.
STYLE CRUSH: My boyfriend jeremie. He always looks so good and I’m really into menswear.
TATTOOS AND PIERCINGS: Well a strange fact is that I actually didn’t get my ears pierced until I was seventeen. I still never wear earrings and I don’t have any tattoos. I once asked a friend why he didn’t have any tattoos and he told me that he was cool enough without them, and I think that’s a really good stance.
IMPACT: Fashion impacts society in a million ways. I’m actually focusing my thesis on the relationship between visual representation and identity. I guess I can paraphrase by saying that a person or group’s entire identity is impacted by the image they choose to portray, which is mainly through fashion, and involves everyone every single day.SPRING AWAKENING: I‘m really into colored and patterned dress pants right now. I also always love a good shorts and sweater combo in the springtime.
